Summer Meadow on Peeper Pond

The week’s assignment from the Longwood class was to consider the direction and quality of light. After declaring victory over pulling weeds the other afternoon, I grabbed a camera and walked through our meadow in the late afternoon. Some things like the cone flowers and phlox are past peak and others like the Joe Pye come to their own in the second half of summer. I have always have had a difficult time getting a good image of the cardinal flower, the reds usually get over saturated and blown out. I think these are getting better.
