Iceland 2024

In early March, I joined a group of friends from New England and traveled around Iceland. Our first leg started in Grundarfjarðarbær in Snaefellsnes. From there we visited most of the iconic locations on the peninsula. Our cottage sat at the foot of one of the most photographed mountains in Iceland, Kirkjufell. Our hope for the trip, to experience the aurora borealis, was fulfilled on the third night, right off the porch of the cottage. Next we drove east of Reykjavik to Brúarfoss and its blue glacier waters. We started shooting before the sunset and stayed about six hours for another spectacular aurora show. The final stretch took us along the very popular southern coast to Vik and Hofn.
