Steve Fredrick and I will be leading a Photo Walk hosted by Green Valleys Association at Welkinweir on Saturday May 12, 2012. There is no better way to take in the beauty of Welkinweir than by capturing it in a photograph. Walk the gardens surrounding the estate house, through grassy meadows to a woodland habitat. It does not matter if you have a point-and-shoot camera or a high-end DSLR, bring it, as this week in May Azalea Lane is in full bloom. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a second pair of dry socks in case the grass is wet with morning dew. We will meet in the pavilion parking lot at 8 AM and then gather to have lunch and review our photos.
One of Welkinweir’s events celebrating National Public Gardens Day, the Photo Walk in part helps promote environmental stewardship, plant and water conservation.
Admission to Welkinweir for this event is free; donations are welcome. Please register by calling 610-469-7543. Directions to Welkinweir can be found on the web site.
