American Southwest: Page, AZ

The first leg of our visit to the American Southwest centered around Page, AZ. From there we visited frequently photographed sites Horse Shoe Bend and the Wahweap Bay in Lake Powell. We made a scouting trip for the next day’s sunrise at the Paria Rimrocks. Located in the southern part of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, these “toadstools” consist of colorful strata, hoodoos and strangely shaped rocks at the edge of a plateau near the Paria River in Utah.

More photos and prints are available in my Southwest United States Gallery.
