This day in Iceland was all about the ice. We started and ended the day on the black sand beach at Jökulsárlón. Ice breaks off the head of Breiðamerkurjökull and floats from the lagoon through a narrow inlet to the sea [sárlón translates to lagoon and kull to glacier]. Tides sculpt and drive the ice back onto the beach. Between the beach outings we explored the terminus of three glacial outlets, Fjallsjökull, Svínafellsjökull and Skaftafellsjökull. This included entering ice caves with the skilled guide Einar Sigurðsson
