Flying from Reykjavik to \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, we immediately headed south to&nbsp;\u00deingeyri and setup at the Sandafell Hotel. Iceland has been experiencing terrible weather all summer, and our first two days were pretty bleak. But then we got &#8220;the third nice day since May&#8221; and the rest of the visit offered Icelandic summer at its best.<\/p>\n<p>From&nbsp;\u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur&nbsp;to&nbsp;\u00deingeyri seemed to be the last paved road in the region, the rest were often bumpy, winding adventures. On prior trips to Iceland I did not get a chance to photograph lupine or puffin. The lupine blossomed in full glory, making impressive displays across the fjords.
