Boy do you get them in Monument Valley, one of the natural settings that Hollywood loves to use. Most remember these buttes from movies or in the images of great landscape photographers. We enjoyed the grandness of the Navajo Nation’s park and paid visit to places where Adams planted his tripod. The overnight trip up to Hunts Mesa provided outstanding opportunities for sunset and sunrise shots. The ride is a bit harrowing and requires a skilled guide and driver. I only wish we could have explored the canyons at the base of Hunts Mesa.

    <a href="https://www.edwardbacon.com/blog/wp-content/gallery/southwest-monument-valley/MonumentValley-9171707.jpg?t=1593396441"
title="Monument Valley, a region of the Colorado Plateau characterized by a cluster of vast sandstone buttes, lies within the Navajo Nation Reservation near the Arizona-Utah state line.
