From there we visited frequently photographed sites&nbsp;Horse Shoe Bend and the Wahweap Bay in Lake Powell. We made a scouting trip for the next day&#8217;s sunrise at&nbsp;the Paria Rimrocks. Here differing hardness of the strata have created a great expanse of cliffs, plateaus, canyons, washes and badlands. Flat blocks of hard sandstone are perched atop narrow columns of softer rock, the balanced boulders also called hoodoos or toadstools.
