The town sits in the rain shadow of the Olympic range, so gets very little precipitation despite the Pacific Northwest reputation.&nbsp;This&nbsp;combined with the soil and f<span style=\"color: #252525;\">og filled&nbsp;breezes from the&nbsp;<\/span><a class=\"mw-redirect\" style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Juan de Fuca Strait\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Juan_de_Fuca_Strait\">Juan de Fuca Strait<\/a>&nbsp;make optimal conditions for growing lavender. And boy do they like lavender, it is everywhere.
