October\u2019s trip (2014) to the Dolomite mountains in northern Italy provided some breathtaking\u00a0views (oh and some very breathtaking hairpin turns too). The reward for the\u00a0rather long drive from Venice came as beautiful light on Pale di San Martino. The next morning we woke to 5 inches of snow; a perfect topping on the peaks set against blue skies and yellow larches.
