Patagonia: El Chalten

El Chalten nestles into the base of the Fitz Roy (originally named El Chalten) and Cerro Torre ranges. It is a funky little town with stunning views of the mountains, some decent places to eat and full of shops catering to trekkers and climbers. The rather famous winds in the area made our first morning of shooting tough; hunkered low to the ground, pressing all my weight on the tripod, it was still hard to get a image without shake. The gale force winds blew down a communication tower leaving the town without internet service during our stay. So when the winds blow, it is overcast and raining, or the clouds obstruct the mountains, well, then you go shoot details and waterfalls.
